This is ridiculous. Lens of Truth stated that they were using retail copies. IGN also said the PS3 version was inferior. Further comparisons will show the same thing. How much evidence do we need? This happens with lots of multiplatform games anyway, so why should we be surprised. If the post actually is from one of the developers all I can say is that he is trying to save face.
BTW, I own both consoles and Uncharted looks no better to me than Gears of War 2. Just because ...
I think Shadow Complex looks really great.
Yeah Nolan North is a great voice actor. He really knows how to deliver his lines in a convincing way. Like many people, I most associate him with Uncharted.
Oh come on guys, everyone with a brain knew it was coming. Might as well preemptively swat down that line of failed logic. I agree with ascendantofrain.
No it hasn't, Jaces. The PS3 has only shown that in ideal circumstances it can have games that look just as good as the best 360 games.
The fact that Guerrilla and Naughty Dog have the talent and the manpower to push through and create fantastic looking games is great for the PS3, but the reality is that most developers have neither the time or the money to invest in overcoming the inefficiencies of the PS3's design.
Hell, not even all 1st party Sony developers ...
@Darkride
Of course all PS3 multi-platform games are not necessarily "gimped", but the majority are demonstrably inferior. That is beyond dispute.
Well, if you have both consoles like I do you would want to know which version is more deserving of your hard earned cash. I have been hugely disappointed by many PS3 multiplatform games in the past and I don't want to get burned again.
When has Lens of Truth ever been "exposed"?
I have always found Lens of Truth to be spot on in their comparisons and I really appreciate that there are groups out there like them that go to the trouble of analyzing these multiplatform games so that multi-console owners like myself have the information we need to make informed buying decisions.
I am sure other groups will put forth their own comparisons that will show the same things that Lens of Truth has f...
Yeah, sorry, I don't completely trust IGN. They claimed the PS3 version of Bioshock was better than the 360 version and I bought the PS3 version based on those claims, only to find out that it looked noticeably inferior to the 360 version that I had already played through (I bought the PS3 version for the extra content).
When other comparisons came out it was obvious that the PS3 version was far inferior to the 360 version and even after the patch it still looks noticeably worse...
They won't. How many times have they said that they are going to continue supporting the 360 for many more years, well into the lifecycle of their next console. The next Xbox will surely come in the next couple of years, but the 360 will continue to be supported right alongside it.
DVD9 is not outdated, it works perfectly fine for 95% of games this generation.
Microsoft and Sony have expressed that they will be supporting their current consoles for many more years. However, that doesn't mean that they won't release more advanced consoles to move into the next generation (which will exist right alongside the current consoles). That said I don't think we will see a new console from Microsoft for another couple of years. Probably around 2011 or 2012.
Really guys, I'm surprised you haven't heard yet.
"According to the Kojima Productions podcast, Konami is developing a brand new engine for Rising to, as KP podcast host Sean Eyestone points out, “realise this multi-platform goal”. What’s more, Rising will have “better graphics” than PS3 exclusive MGS4.
“We’re redoing the engine from scratch, and it’s going to look amazing,” says Eyestone. “It’s going to be a big project like Metal Gear Solid 4. The entire tea...
The original Xbox was not "a piece of crap". It was actually my favorite console. I found more of the games i wanted to play on the Xbox and I also loved the fact that most of the multiplatform games also looked better on the Xbox. I loved that it had a hard drive. And I especially loved Xbox LIVE.
What did Xbox do? Well, it became the second best selling console and established the Xbox brand in the market. It also created a whole bunch of fans like me who were r...
I take offense at you calling the original Xbox "a piece of trash". It was my favorite console last generation and had some of my favorite games of all time. Its games tended to be a little more mature and directed towards the adult gamer. Plus, I loved the fact that I could play PC oriented games like Doom 3 and Half Life 2 without having to maintain a gaming PC. I also loved the fact that it had a built in hard drive. The thing that pushed it over the top for me was Xbox LIVE...
The difference between Eye Toy and Natal is similar to between an old boob tube from the 50s and a new flat panel 1080p HDTV. Same general idea, but a world of difference.
Since you are wishing RROD on people, I will just go ahead and wish YLOD on you. It seems to be getting more common, you know.
Luckily for me neither my 360 nor my PS3 have ever had any problems.
The Xbox was the more reliable console last generation and I am sure Microsoft have realized where their mistakes were made and will put out an ultra reliable console next gen.
BTW, I agree with you, Ninja Blade is a pretty fun game.
Guys, the EA comment came from an EA suit (senior VP of EA Europe) who has no knowledge of game programming and was just made off hand at E3. It shouldn't be taken seriously. He is probably just going off the same misinformation a lot of gamers are going off when they believe Sony's marketing about the PS3 being more powerful.
It makes no sense anyway, if you think about it. How can this guy from EA say that they have maxed out the 360, but not the PS3 when his company's own g...
What? Did you just say Forza 3 and GT5 Prologue are equals?
Nevermind, you are a lost cause.
Virtually every other Lens of Truth comparison that I have seen was spot on.
Besides, I can't believe the amount of denial it takes to ignore the fact that both IGN and ars technica have found the same things. Here is the ars technica comparison: http://arstechnica.com/gami...
